Sheep head

Sheepshead prefer water in the 65 degree range. They stay relatively close inshorearound structure such as bridges and rocky banks and jetties; any place where barnacles, mussels and oysters are found. Because of their powerful human-like buck teeth, they consume all sorts of crabs and shells many other fish cannot. Due to their sharp strong spines on the dorsal and anal fins, they avoid becoming prey for fish that feed on their less well armored neighbors. Sheepshead is an excellent food fish.
