Striped Bass

Striper AKA Striped Bass,Rockfish. Known to reach more than 100lbs. and move between salt and freshwater, the "Striper" is now stocked in nearly one third of the U.S. Although primarily an Eastern US favorite, California through Oregon is a growing fishery for this powerful, good eating Bass. Stripers will hit artificial lures, can be caught at night or while trolling or bottom fishing. Striped Bass fillets are excellent when fried or fillets baked or broiled. Since these are large thick fish, they can be cut into beautiful steaks and grilled.
